SALEM'S WYCH Members Comment On Singer RON JOHNSON's Passing

April 28, 2007

The surviving members of SALEM'S WYCH have commented on the passing of their singer Ron Johnson, who died this past Monday (April 23) in Lima, Ohio from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Their statement reads as follows:

"All of the members of SALEM'S WYCH, past and present, deepest sympathy goes out to Ron Johnson's family, his two children, and his life partner Cindy. We would also like to thank everyone for their kind emails, calls and cards following Ron Johnson's passing . It is amazing to hear just how much of an impact Ron has left on the world through the people who have met him over the years, both on a personal level and from a musical influence side.

"Ron was never just the singer of SALEM'S WYCH, but our friend, brother, and master of ceremonies, with whom we set out to concur the world when it was still all about the music , and who made us laugh probably more than anyone has a right to. To our brother and friend we will miss you, but you will never be forgotten."

SALEM'S WYCH is known as one of the original '80s bands along with METALLICA, ANTHRAX, SLAYER and HELSTAR to usher in a style of metal blended with punk influences that went on to be known as thrash metal.
